Hi Terry,
IMHO, (DISCLAIMER--former moderator there) the Fedora forums are often a
great place to start.
Quick and nasty answer. You haven't given enough information. Generally,
when asking for help, (and it takes time to learn what information is
important), it's best to say which version of Fedora, and which desktop.
Chances are you're using F18 and Gnome. You should also let us know what
kind of printer you're using. As for video viewing, the standard totem
that comes with Fedora is pretty bad. You should go to rpmfusion.org,
install the repository (see their configuration section) and then install
vlc and/or mplayer and/or smplayer. Those will play just about any video
you can throw at it. You may also need the libdvdcss software, to view
some DVDs.
See this guide
http://www.mjmwired.net/resources/mjm-fedora-f18.html
which I consider one of the easiest.
As for printers, again, it is a big help if you tell us what sort of
printer. Again, Fedora's built in software tends to not work for me (but
in fairness, much of it seems to assume you have Gnome or another major
desktop installed, and I do minimal installs. If it is a Hewlett Packard
printer I recommend installing hplip then running hp-setup.
If it is another printer, you might get quicker answers on the forums, but
at any rate, if you mention what it is, I'm sure someone can help.
