Re: [LINUX_Newbies] Help me out! Why can't I install kde-plasma/plamsa-meta

The parentheses mean that the use flag is locked for your arch.  You won't be able to turn it on with any setting.  Since the package is required because dbus is set for knotifications, maybe try setting -dbus for that package in package.use.

This is the ONLY available version of dev-libs/libdbusmenu-qt:

camille ~ # eix dev-libs/libdbusmenu-qt

      Available versions:  0.9.3_pre20140619-r1^t {debug doc +qt4 qt5
test ABI_MIPS="n32 n64 o32" ABI_PPC="32 64" ABI_S390="32 64" ABI_X86="32

      Installed versions:  0.9.3_pre20140619-r1^t(08:22:30 PM
04/10/2016)(qt4 -debug -doc -qt5 -test ABI_MIPS="-n32 -n64 -o32"
ABI_PPC="-32 -64" ABI_S390="-32 -64" ABI_X86="32 -64 -x32")
      Homepage:            https://launchpad.net/libdbusmenu-qt/
      Description:         A library providing Qt implementation of
DBusMenu specification

camille ~ #

And it SAYS that it can be built with the qt5 USE flag.  From my emerge
-pv dev-libs/libdbusmenu-qt above:

(qt5)

but I have no idea how (qt5) is different from qt4 or doc.  Can I only
build it with qt4 or qt5?
