In this situation where I live I have to pay to get a static IP. There
is nothing on the router. I paid yesterday and wasn't sure if they had
given me one yet. I got the idea of checking what my IP address is on
the internet. It did not change when I rebooted the computer and so I
assume I do now have a static IP. I proceeded to install Ubuntu, but had
some problems.
