Re: [LINUX_Newbies] Opening a terminal..?

If it is Ubuntu, Playonlinux is in the repositories. You can install it
from Synaptic, or Software Centre.

You can also use the commandline from a terminal which is found in the
menus under Accessories for older versions or in Unity click on the Dash
and type terminal. It should come after just a few letters. You can just
press Alt+F2 and type gnome-terminal in most other desktops (not GNOME
Shell). I think Ctrl+Alt+T will open a terminal in Unity. Not sure about
GNOME shell.

Once the terminal is open type: sudo apt-get install playonlinux

See: http://www.psychocats.net/ubuntu/terminal

http://complete-concrete-concise.com/ubuntu-2/ubuntu-11-10-how-to-get-a-command-line-shell-or-terminal

But the easiest way to install Playonlinux is to use the package manager,
either Synaptic or Software Centre.
