[nslu2-linux] OpenWRT - Unable to boot from USB

Hi all,
i've installed on my NSLU2 OpenWrt kamikaze rel. 8.09.2
All works well.
Because of i need to install many packages, i'd like to
I've followed the
"How do I boot from the USB device (prep)" and
"Boot Configuration (Kamikaze)"
wiki pages.
If i run the created pivoroot script, i see that the root is correctly mounted on the usb storage.
After reboot i edit as described my /etc/init.d/rcS
But at the next reboots, nothing change.

Can you help me, pls?
Thanks
Regards

M
