Your kernel senses something is installed but I do not think it has a driver for it. In another post you issued the command lsusb which does produce the following information:

Bus 001 Device 007: ID 07d1:3303 D-Link System DWA-131 802.11n Wireless N Nano Adapter(rev.A1) [Realtek RTL8192SU]

Which I assume from the rest is the device you wish to use? I searched the net for some information about it and I found this:

http://cateee.net/lkddb/web-lkddb/R8712U.html

Which states:

found in Linux kernels: 2.6.37 – 2.6.39, 3.0–3.4, 3.6-rc+HEAD

uname -a says you are running kernel 2.6.18-308.13.1.el5 or 2.6.18 plus some minor distribution fixes. So the driver you need didn't come out for 19 releases after the kernel you are using.

So you've confirmed what others have suspected that your present distribution is too far behind to drive your hardware.

What you do from here is up to you but in my opinion you should seriously consider just using a distribution that automatically works out of the box. I've had my experiences with wireless myself, all bad, well unless it just worked.
