[nslu2-linux] kernel-module-cifs for kernel 2.6.24

Hello,

I have synology NAS with this new kernel, but cifs module exists only for older version (2.6.15) - http://ipkg.nslu2-linux.org/feeds/optware/syno-e500/cross/unstable/kernel-module-cifs_2.6.15-1_powerpc.ipk

Is it possible to recompile it for the current kernel version?
Or at least to provide sources for this module... I somehow can't access them.

I only found this info>
Package: kernel-module-cifs

in the http://ipkg.nslu2-linux.org/feeds/optware/syno-e500/cross/unstable/Packages file

thanks for ANY guidance, me and many users with this gadget would greatly appreciate solving this issue,
