What I was suggesting is to look up your wireless card/chip in the
computer - its name. Then go to Ubuntu and see if it is compatible for
use - or otherwise an additional solution such as install an additional
free driver in Ubuntu.

Here was my example in a Toshiba Notebook - went to Device Manager /
Properties in Windows---- Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools >
Device Manager > right click it for - Properties (info)

Results.... it is an Atheros AR9285

lspci -v
and read the last section. "
