change your VM settings to allow for usb. The VMs themselves are stored in
the .VirtualBox hidden folder in the VDI subfolder. At worst you will have
to re-install the XP VM, but link to the old VM VDI file. This means that
you won't have to re-install XP unless you really want to. That can be a
real pain. :)
