Re: [LINUX_Newbies] The Debian Choice...//Iceweasel

I had a similar experience a while back that I eventually resolved by
removing an individual memory strip.

Re: [LINUX_Newbies] The Debian Choice...//Iceweasel

Download and install memtest+ "http://www.memtest.org/"
Run it from a USB or CD.  It may take 24 hours to run, but it can find things that nothing else will.  Let us know the results.

BTW: I agree with Roy once again.  As I said before, he is REALLY good.  Scott for sure is in the same level as is Cameron.

Someone probably wrote tar -xvzf (note the space). However, with tar, you
don't even need the dash. So a simple tar<space>xvzf, e.g., tar xvzf
should do it.

Re: [LINUX_Newbies] Re: Java FX in Ubuntu

Good point.  Are you using 32 bit or 64 bit Ubuntu?  Do this command at the terminal and tell us the results. Better yet, reply to this email, copy the terminal like you did before, and paste it into the reply:

uname      -m

All of this crashing sounds like you have a hardware problem. It is highly unusual to have crashing across many distros.

I had the same thing happen. Iron does not set up its own profile, but uses the profile of Chromium.

good afternoon
this was not my question.
sorry
my mistake.

I installed chrome chromium
then maxthone
ok.

then I installed iron
and I opened iron and I found all bookmarks and pages from chrom.

that was the question.
Is iron dependent and does steal the bookmarks from other browsers?

Both Java and Flash are plugins, so it's not that unusual for a browser to
not work with them--especially some of the very minimalist browsers.

It seems to follow many standard browser keyboard shortcuts
Ctl+t opens a new tab, Ctl+w closes a tab, Ctl+tab moves between tabs.

It has a few other features which are nice. Hit f, as in follow and you
will see that all links have a number. Hit the number and it will go
follow that link. It has vi keyboard shortcuts. Hitting j will scroll the
page down, hitting k will scroll up, h will scroll left and l will scroll
right. If you're used to the vi editor, this is handy. It also uses gg to
get to the top of the page and shift+G to get to the bottom.

If dangerous, I'd start with dillo, but I think it doesn't even do
javascript. But, it might at least warn you.
