Re: [LINUX_Newbies] anonym

There are things that you can do such as use incognito mode in Chrome, make sure Do Not Track is turned on, use a proxy server like, Hide My Ass. But nothing works all that well. You could set up a vpn and that would improve things.

How it works: http://electronics.howstuffworks.com/how-to-tech/how-to-surf-the-web-anonymously.htm

VPNs: http://lifehacker.com/how-do-i-know-if-my-vpn-is-trustworthy-508866499

I use a proxy server to get Pandora, Hulu to work in Canada, but if they want to go to the trouble they can still track me and prevent me from using their product.

If anonymous surfing is your goal then download TAILS (link below) and install it to a usb drive. Reboot into TAILS and surf to your heart's desire. Everything is routed and nothing is saved or tracked.

Good luck!
