As everyone else has said, you'll need to upgrade your RAM, and unless you can buy some cheap module(s) on eBay it's probably not worthwhile, But you could put a really lightweight distro like DSL on ii, just for the learning experience, and to discover the pleasure of having a computer that doesn't crash all the time :-)
