[LINUX_Newbies] What is root user

 

I hear Unix ,Linux and Mac have root user what is that.

I thought a root is top level of the directory .

Also I hear in Unix ,Linux and Mac the user cannot modify, install, or remove anything with out password.

sorry this very hard for a windows user to understand this and why this is the case.
