[Java] Simple Technique for Translating a Shape?

 

Hey guys...I'm new to java...and I'm trying to move a rectangle up and down (say periodically). I haven't been able to find something simple online or in any reference as to how to attain this. Is it just that the answer is ugly or is there an elegant way of getting this animation ...perhaps a library/plugin with macros already defined?

Whatever the case can someone refer/show me simple lines of "quasi-code" (that reside presumably in a paint method) that allows my rectangle object move up and down with a certain functional dependence?...
