[LINUX_Newbies] Need some advice RE: Synaptic errors

I had the power go out the other night and this Makulu XFCE 7.0 tower didn't start-up as usual, so I shutdown and used a Zorin Live DVD to check the hard drive was seen, etc. Then I restarted and Makulu ran some tests, so now neither Software Updater nor Synaptic can install all its updates, here's the messages:

===So can I repair somehow, or should I backup my files and try Makulu XFCE 7.1
Thanks for any ideas,
Joan in Reno
