The classic menu is built into Kubuntu (and all KDE desktops). Nothing to install. Right click on the KDE icon (start button) and Choose Switch to Classic Menu Style. As simple as that. You get the cascading menu instead of the slab menu. I used the old style for a long time, but have since gotten used to the slab menu which is faster. To find an application the fastest way it to click on the search box and start typing its name. By the time you get three keystrokes in it should appear as a choice. It also works for files.

I tried to install the classic menu indicator in Kubuntu and it refuses to work. It worked great in Ubuntu but  I switched to Kubuntu and it doesn't work. It is in the muon kubuntu software depository so I should be able to get it to work. Any ideas ?

Thanks Roy
