Most computers today have a boot manager. When you boot it and get the first
graphic screen, at the bottom it will tell to press a key to get the boot
manager (it might say boot options or something similar) and a different key
for recovery or BIOS. On my eeePC it is the ESC key. When I press that key
after a brief wait I get a list of the bootable devices. If my usb key is in
it might say Kingston Data Traveler or something like that. The first one on
the list will be the hard drive. You just select the one that you want from
the list with the keyboard and press enter. Just make sure that the usb key
is in the computer before you boot.
