I have excellent service from K3b. Also, smplayer and smtube are flawless.
HOWEVER, in either Ubuntu 14.04 or Mint 17, vlc and totem work in some computers
and not in others. IF anyone has solutions,I promise I will be very attentive.
Thanks

K3b supports video CDs. You should not have a problem copying any CD (audio, video or combined) if it is made correctly and is readable. It can make new audio or video CDs, DVDs, data disks, rip CDs, rip DVDs, etc. I am not sure why you are having a problem or even what the problem is.
Problems with copying CDs usually relate to the quality of the disks, both the one being copied and the blank disk, or with burn speed. You can adjust the burn speed and try a different disk (even the brand can be a problem). Some brands just seem to work better with some drives.
