Re: [Java] j2me, bluetooth and location system

i haven't used Avetana so i can't contest to it. another option is Bluecove which I have used. here's the first sentence from http://bluecove.org:

BlueCove is a Java library for Bluetooth (JSR-82 implementation) that currently interfaces with the Mac OS X, WIDCOMM, BlueSoleil and Microsoft Bluetooth stack found in Windows XP SP2 or Windows Vista and WIDCOMM and Microsoft Bluetooth stack on Windows Mobile.

i've used it and it's pretty seemless. create a project in netbeans and add Bluecove .jar as a dependency to your project. if you aren't familiar with that procedure, left-click on the 'Libraries' node of your project and select 'Add Library...'. you should be able to take it from there. once added you can start coding with the JSR-82 API.

good luck. jerry.

hi,
i have to develop an application for bluetooth devices.i have attached and installed a bluetooth dongle to my system and have to write an application that my system acts an access point ans scans surrounding mobile phones and communicate with the m and back to server too.

what i know is i need to install JDK, netbeans and JSR 82 ApI for bluetooth.actually i need avetanabluetooth specification to access the bluetooth dongle attched to my system and then scan and communicate with mobile phone around,i don't know how to link that to netbeans(i mean i have to download jar file and set the classpath or what?)also i have got vista on my system and Avetana requires XP so i was wondering if it will work with vista or not?

if some one can help please,
