The solution that I have found was to add in a new file /unslung/rc.samba:
#!/bin/bash
return 0
so that samba does not start when slug boots and also to change in /usr/sbin/WatchDog:
MSN="msn_enable" to MSN="msn_disable"
so that samba is not restarted every time cron runs /usr/sbin/WatchDog
Hope this helps somebody.
