As I mentioned earlier, it's not always possible.
Also, we're not talking to you (or people like you.) A), you're
knowledgeable (and write very interesting stuff), B) you don't jump in
to hijack a thread and start complaining about those who request top
posting.

That being said, and, elitist as it sounds, with me, at least, you did
have to earn the right, so to speak--that is, seeing how informative
your posts are, (and how horribly yahoo formatted when you tried to post
in a different way) :), you became one of those folks who whether you
top or bottom post, I'll almost always make an effort to read what
you're talking about.

As I said, after the last round of insults, I sent a few people to the
killfile, so I've missed much of the discussion--however, from what I've
seen, it was, once again, a hijacking of a thread, offering no technical
help, to complain about someone (politely) asking others to top post.

Yes, sometimes it's not possible (or not practical). However, it *is*
still considered the standard, and still gives you better likelihood of
having your posts answered, especially if you are a newcomer (as opposed
to you--you answer more than you ask, and a mailing list, for better or
worse is based on merit).

Giles: (scoffs) Magic! Magic's all balderdash and chicanery. I'm
afraid we don't know a bloody thing. (everyone looking at him)
Except I seem to be British, don't I? Uh, and a man. With ...
glasses. (removes glasses) Well, that narrows it down
considerably.
