Re: [LINUX_Newbies] Gnome Power Manager

Sometimes after an upgrade things are uneven and something will stop working
because a part was upgraded an not another part. This usually straightens
out over time. Unfortunatley it does not help you get in. This is why I will
install a second desktop environment, such as KDE or XFCE. Then you just
switch the login session the KDE or XFCE and fix the problem. Then when you
log out you can log into GNOME.

All is not lost. From the Shutdown menu button you can choose a terminal
login. Just choose it then sudo apt-get update and sudo apt-get upgrade. If
it is broken try sudo apt-get -f install.
