[LINUX_Newbies] Another backup and restore (and repair) tool for your arsenal

 

Linux Magazine today has an article about Redo, an interesting tool that is run from a bootable CD or USB key. It's a Linux-based bootable OS in its own right, so it is run separately from your operating systems. However, it appears to have a very nice compression ratio for making very small backups that can be restored in whole or in part at need.

It also works with both Windows and Linux partitions, so it is simple to use on dual-boot systems--and can even back up removable media attached to the system, as well as doing various system repair functions.
