I have successfully fattened the slug (at least mechanically) but once booting the squeeze installer (with the latest apex bootloader) I still only see 28844 total when running 'free' from the installer command line and when I proceed with the install it runs out of memory loading the partitioner (as expected). I've been through just about every page there is on the slug wiki, and I'm left scratching my head. :P

Hi Scott,

I didn't found if anybody answered your question.
But I remember a friend of mine has fattened his slug and he told me the
following (from my memory):

- a RS232 level shifter for Rx and Tx signals (MAX232 or cheaper)
- a 4 pin connector
- soldering iron & co. (mostly unsoldering wire, or what the English
word is)
- remove battery
- insert the 4 pin connector to the 4 holes for ttyS0
- place battery again
- connect RS232 level shifter to 4pin header and a PC terminal
- boot up the slug
- .... don't remember .... replace or chain the boot manger - I believe
it was adding U-BOOT as 2nd stage chained boot manager on top of (APEX?)
- boot up again, jump into U-Boot
- set environment for more RAM
- run bootcmd for uImage
- lay back and smile
