Being a little snide here, but it sounds like you are blaming your
recent use of Linux for the Problem it has created for you. Ummm... No,
this was all YOUR doing - the Linux command center didn't pick you out
to spread their nefarious OS!

Seriously, have you simply considered virtualizing these servers in one
or possibly two units instead of running all this metal, generating all
the heat, using all the electricity? There are many, many options for
running virtual machines under Linux: VirtualBox from Sun (free), XEN
mostly free, VMWare Player - free to use preconfigured VMs that others
have configured, Qemu is another VM system. A google search will really
help you with more info and choices with the overall goal of reducing
your carbon footprint.
