As far as I know (and I'm not really familiar with either) Mint uses
Gnome by default and SuSE defaults to KDE, so that's a factor too--which
one you prefer.
You can use the live CD (or live DVD? SuSE might be a live DVD) without
installing either and then make some kind of decision.
